Jack Williamson Dies

Tremendously sad news. The Dean of Science Fiction, legendary author Jack Williamson, has passed away at the age of 98.

Any favorites by him? I admit to not having read too many, but I really enjoyed the Humanoids novels.

Have to go with "The Humanoids", such an amazing concept.

When I saw "I, Robot" the core of the story they ended up telling leaned much more to Williamson than Asimov, and it made me smile.

Seemed like ol' Jack would just go on forever.

I liked Legion of Space, but it's been a long time since I read it. I rather enjoyed The Stonehenge Gate which was serialized in Analog last year.

I may lean toward the Legion of Space too. Gawd that was hokey stuff but I love hoke.

We don't lose Giants from our Playground that often anymore. Once Clarke and Bradbury are gone, I know I will feel pretty much... well, exposed, without protection from the centuries. I am not making much sense, I just mourn.

Favorites? The Legion Of Space. Many, they just don't write space opera like that anymore.
