ConFusion!
Right now, out in Dearborn. I'll be there tomorrow; I've got a panel on home CD production at noon, a concert at 6:00, and Spock Pacific In Concert at 9:00. Who all's there, or is going to be there? Assuming there's a cheap 1-day rate, I'll be there for Saturday. If I find out there isn't, I'll ghost for a few minutes and go back home.

Story goes that people were using Saturday-only passes to abuse alcohol in the consuite. Thus it was not an option. Hope you're having fun there now!

You all have fun! I'm curious about how the panel goes. I'm glad more conventions are putting filkers on panels as well as concerts. You got knowledge to pass on. Not only will this help recruit the next set of filkers but help with the newbies.

Well, I've certainly focused better on the subject since the last time I did a panel on it. The trick is whether it turns into a for-beginners panel or a deep-tech panel. The last time, the other panelists threw around a lot of specific hardware and software items, and it got well away from being a beginners' panel.

An old (late 80s) Fish and Ships production (i.e., Julia Ecklar and friends). Star Trek 3, bludgeoned with Rodgers & Hammerstein. I'm the evil Klingon captain, Mark Bernstein is Kirk, and I'm not sure who else is in it. It'll be an "in concert" production, i.e., no costumes or heavy staging.

Good deal. I'd keep it newbie friendly until you know if the people are experienced or not. At Windycon last year I heard several people complain that there wasn't enough topic to cover the panel. The title sounded interesting but you need more than that. Of course the theme at that convention was zombies and it's hard to come up with enough panels and have all of them be distinct.
