Whitney Houston Dead

Holy frijoles. Just tragic. Condolences to her friends and family.

This took me by surprise. She was only 48. I hope they find the cause for it.

I just read it at the Moderate Voice site. I do hope that it wasn't drugs or violence.

It would appear to be drugs, alas.

Still doesn't detract from her friends and family missing her, or that it was too. Damned. Young.

Actually the piece you linked here said "cause unclear" down at the end.

Most of the piece talks about her problems with drugs, and it would frankly be kind of surprising if the toll that took on her body over the years played no part in her cause of death (always supposing it wasn't drugs directly, which we don't yet know) but apparently it's not known for sure yet.

But her friends and family will miss her just as much, either way. And what a loss of a great vocal talent.

Another one. Drat. I only wish authors would get more attention. I didn't see this kind of publicity when John Christopher left us just recently. Nothing in the news, at all. Wouldn't have known, except for Locus.

When I heard, it scared me to realize other than "she is a singer" I had no real idea who she was.

Sadly not a big surprise. Every time I hear about someone with exceptional talent pissing it away via drug addiction it makes me sad.
